1. Purpose
PhiSaver aims to deliver services in a way that supports environmental responsibility, ethical business conduct and positive social outcomes.
2. Commitments
PhiSaver will:
- operate lawfully, ethically and transparently
- support energy efficiency, measurement and improved operational performance for customers
- seek to reduce waste, unnecessary travel, unnecessary energy use and avoidable environmental impacts in our own operations where practical
- consider durability, maintainability and fit-for-purpose outcomes when selecting equipment and suppliers
- promote safe, respectful and inclusive working practices
- support fair dealing with customers, workers, suppliers and communities
- comply with applicable health, safety, environmental and employment laws.
3. Practical actions
PhiSaver will, where practical:
- favour repair, reuse, long-life components and sensible replacement cycles
- minimise packaging and waste where reasonably possible
- consider environmental and social factors alongside cost, quality and functionality
- use subcontractors and suppliers who can operate safely and ethically
- cooperate with reasonable customer requests for sustainability or social responsibility information.
4. Continuous improvement
PhiSaver recognises that sustainability is an ongoing process. We aim to improve our practices over time in a manner proportionate to the size of the business and the scale of our projects.
5. Responsibility
Management is responsible for implementing this policy and reviewing it periodically.
