1. Purpose

PhiSaver is committed to conducting business lawfully, ethically and respectfully. We do not tolerate modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, discrimination, harassment or other human rights abuses in our business or supply chains.

2. Scope

This policy applies to PhiSaver personnel, contractors, suppliers and subcontractors engaged in providing goods or services to PhiSaver.

3. Commitments

PhiSaver will:

  • comply with applicable workplace, anti-discrimination, work health and safety, migration and employment laws
  • treat workers with dignity, respect and fairness
  • seek to prevent modern slavery and human rights abuses in our operations and supply chains
  • avoid engaging suppliers where there are known serious labour or human rights concerns that are not being addressed
  • support a workplace that is inclusive and free from discrimination, bullying, harassment and victimisation
  • make employment decisions on merit
  • support flexible, fair and respectful working arrangements where reasonably practicable
  • pay lawful wages and entitlements and use lawful labour practices
  • respond reasonably to customer due diligence requests relating to modern slavery, human rights or workplace gender equality.

4. Practical actions

PhiSaver will, proportionate to its size and risk profile:

  • consider modern slavery and labour risks when selecting key suppliers
  • ask reasonable questions of suppliers where higher-risk goods or services are involved
  • keep internal channels available for workers to raise concerns
  • investigate credible concerns and take appropriate action
  • review this policy periodically and improve practices over time.

5. Workplace gender equality

PhiSaver supports gender equality and aims to:

  • provide equal opportunity in recruitment, pay, development and promotion
  • maintain respectful workplace behaviour
  • support flexible work and caring responsibilities where operationally reasonable
  • comply with WGEA obligations if and when PhiSaver becomes a relevant employer under the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012.

6. Reporting concerns

Personnel are encouraged to report concerns about unlawful conduct, unfair treatment, suspected modern slavery, human rights risks, or discrimination to management as soon as possible. PhiSaver will treat reports seriously and, where appropriate, confidentially.

7. Responsibility

Management is responsible for implementing this policy and reviewing it periodically.
